These terms apply when you post a project, bid on one, hire a professional or work on a hire through Bildfie, in any trade or skill. They are part of our Terms of Service and work together with the Payments & Wallet Terms and the Disputes & Refunds Policy.

1.Posting a project

In shortDescribe real work honestly: what you need, where, when and your budget.
  • A project must be real work you intend to pay for. Describe the scope, the skills needed, the place (or that it can be done remotely), the timing and your budget.
  • A project can need several skills. Each skill gets its own bids and its own hire.
  • Your name is not shown on a project. Professionals see who you are, by first name, only once they bid.
  • Your first post may be checked by staff before it goes live.
  • No contact details in the project (see Community Standards).

2.Bidding

In shortBid only on work you can do, at a price and timeline you will keep.
  • A bid is an offer to do the work at the price and timeline you state. Bid only if you have the skills, tools and any licence the work needs.
  • Your bid may be compared side by side with others by the client.
  • Do not copy bids, send the same bid everywhere, or put contact details in a bid.
  • When a project is hired, it stops taking bids.

3.Hiring and the agreement

In shortHiring creates an agreement between client and professional, signed on Bildfie. Small quick jobs need no written agreement but are still paid through escrow.
  • When you hire, a project workspace opens for the two of you, with the goals, phases, budget and files.
  • For work above KES 5,000, both sides sign an agreement on Bildfie using their uploaded signature. Once signed, the agreement is sealed and cannot be changed; changes are made by a new signed version.
  • Quick jobs of KES 5,000 or less need no written agreement, but are still paid through escrow.
  • The agreement is between the client and the professional. Bildfie is not a party to it, but holds the money in escrow and decides disputes about it.

4.Phases, milestones and payment

In shortWork is split into phases. Each phase is funded first and paid when the client marks it done.

Payment works as described in the Payments & Wallet Terms: fund a phase, the professional marks it finished, the client marks it done, and the professional is paid within 15 minutes. Professionals should not start a phase until it is funded. Clients should mark a phase done promptly once the work is delivered, or raise their concern on Bildfie.

5.Doing the work

In shortDo the work you agreed, safely and lawfully, and keep the client updated on Bildfie.
  • Professionals are independent. They decide how to do the work, provide their own tools unless agreed otherwise, and are responsible for their own taxes, insurance and licences.
  • Work on site must follow safety, building and labour law.
  • Post updates, photos and files in the workspace so both sides have the same record.
  • Other people engaged on a project (helpers, sub-contractors) get access only to what the project owner allows, and lose it when their part ends.

6.Changes and cancellation

In shortAgree changes in the workspace. Unfunded or unfinished phases can be cancelled under the agreement.

Changes to scope, price or timing should be agreed in the workspace and, for signed agreements, by a new signed version. Money for a phase not yet marked finished can be taken back by the client. If the two sides cannot agree, use the Disputes & Refunds Policy.

7.Reviews and case studies

In shortOnly people who did real work together can review each other. Finished projects may become case studies.
  • Clients and professionals can review each other only after real work on Bildfie. Reviews must be honest and about the work.
  • Followers of a project who did not take part may leave a comment, but it never counts in anyone's rating.
  • A finished project may be shown as a case study with result photos and the stages of the work, without private details. The project owner chooses what is shown.

8.Not allowed

In shortNo fake projects, no taking deals off Bildfie, no unsafe or illegal work.
  • Projects posted to collect ideas, free samples or contact details.
  • Asking for or offering payment outside Bildfie.
  • Work that is illegal, unsafe, or needs a licence the professional does not hold.
  • Asking professionals to pay to be considered for a project.
