This Cookies Policy explains how Bildfie uses cookies and similar technologies on the website and in the app, why, and how you can control them. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.

1.What cookies are

In shortSmall files and storage in your browser that help Bildfie remember you and work properly.

A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies include the browser's local storage and session storage, which keep small pieces of information on your device. Some cookies last only until you close the browser (session cookies); others stay for a set time (persistent cookies).

2.Cookies we always use

In shortNeeded to sign you in, keep forms and money safe, and remember your cookie choice. They cannot be switched off.
NameWhat it doesHow long
bildfie_sessionKeeps you signed in as you move between pages; carries the security token that protects forms.Until you close the browser or sign out
bildfie_remember"Keep me signed in": a coded token so you stay signed in on this device. Signing out removes it.Up to 90 days
bf_ccRemembers whether you accepted or declined optional cookies, so we do not ask again.1 year
bf_tzYour time zone, so times such as "5 minutes ago" are right.Session
bildfie_admin, bf_mpassStaff only: the staff sign-in, and a pass that lets staff use the site during maintenance.Session / 2 days

3.Storage that remembers your preferences

In shortKept only on your device to make Bildfie easier to use.
NameWhat it does
bf_saved, bf_followingItems you saved and companies you follow before signing in.
bfHomeTab, workspace tabsThe tab you last opened, so the page opens where you left it.
Chat drafts and recent emojiAn unsent message you were writing, and the emoji you use most.
bf_ads_seenWhich of our own promotions you have already seen, so they are not repeated too often.

You can clear this storage at any time in your browser settings.

4.Analytics, only if you accept

In shortIf you accept, Google Analytics may measure how Bildfie is used. If you decline, or your browser asks sites not to track you, it does not load.

When you choose Accept in the cookie window, we may load Google Analytics, which sets its own cookies (such as _ga, kept up to 2 years) to count visits and see which pages are used, in summary. We do not load it if you choose Decline, or if your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal.

5.Advertising cookies

In shortNot in use today. If we start showing adverts from a partner, we will ask first.

Bildfie does not currently use advertising cookies from partners. Adverts and promoted listings shown today come from members and are served by Bildfie itself (Advertising Policy). If we add an advertising partner, we will update this policy and ask for your consent before their cookies are used.

6.In the Bildfie app

In shortThe app keeps your sign-in token and settings securely on your phone.

The Bildfie app stores a sign-in token in your phone's secure storage, your settings, and a push-notification token so we can send you alerts you asked for. Removing the app or signing out deletes them from your phone.

7.How to control cookies

In shortUse the cookie window, your browser settings, or a Do Not Track signal.
  • Cookie window: choose Accept or Decline. To change your choice, clear the bf_cc cookie (or all cookies for Bildfie) and the window appears again.
  • Browser settings: every browser lets you see, block and delete cookies. Blocking essential cookies stops sign-in from working.
  • Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control: we respect both for analytics.
  • Google Analytics opt-out: Google offers a browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

8.Changes

In shortIf we add a new kind of cookie, we update this page and ask again where consent is needed.
