Your safety is our first priority. This page explains how Bildfie protects your account and your money, what you can do to stay safe, and what to do if something goes wrong.
1.How we protect your account
- Passwords and transaction PINs are stored only as one-way hashes.
- Balances are hidden until you enter your PIN, and hide again after a few seconds. Sending money out needs your PIN.
- Identity documents and private files are kept out of public storage.
- Signed agreements and certificates are sealed so nobody can alter them.
- Sign-ins, failed sign-ins and PIN checks are recorded so we can spot misuse.
- Text is checked for contact details to stop scammers moving you off Bildfie.
2.What you can do
- Use a strong password you do not use anywhere else, and a PIN that is not your birthday or 1234.
- Never share your password, PIN, M-Pesa PIN or one-time codes with anyone, including people who say they are from Bildfie.
- Sign in only at the real Bildfie website or app. Check the address before you type your password.
- Keep conversations and payments on Bildfie. Report anyone who asks you to move off it.
- Sign out on shared devices.
3.Your signature
To sign agreements on Bildfie, you upload an image of your signature. When you sign, a copy of it is sealed into that document with the date and time, and cannot be changed afterwards. Only upload your own signature, and only sign documents you have read and agree to.
4.If you lose access or your account is misused
- If you forget your password, use "Forgot password" on the sign-in page.
- If you lost access to your email or phone, or someone took over your account, use account recovery. You send a photo of your ID and a selfie; staff compare them with your verification on file.
- When an account is restored, every device is signed out and a link to set a new password is sent.
- If you notice activity you do not recognise, change your password and PIN at once and contact support@bildfie.com.
5.Common scams to avoid
- A "client" or "employer" who asks you to pay a fee first.
- Anyone who asks you to pay or be paid outside Bildfie, or sends a till or paybill number.
- Messages pretending to be Bildfie support that ask for your password, PIN or a code.
- Overpayment tricks: someone "accidentally" sends too much and asks you to send the difference back.
- Prices far below the market for phones, cars or property.
Report these on Bildfie. We act on every report.
6.Reporting a security problem
If you find a security weakness in Bildfie, email support@bildfie.com with "Security" in the subject and the details. Please do not test it on other members' accounts or share it publicly before we have fixed it. We will thank you and keep you updated.
